And now, for something completely different. How about a 39" scale electric bass ? You might think - Why ? Unplayable ! Wrong - it actually plays very well, and the scale length imparts a strong fundamental from the lowest thru highest pitches. BTW, this bass is currently tuned BEADG , but KGW has strings specially made that enable this bass to go down to F# below low B , hence the name "Quake". This bass is a neck-thru with a 5 piece Maple / Walnut neck and a composite fretboard. The body wings are Quilt Maple. All that Maple gives this bass a lot of bite. The pickups and preamp are by Seymour Duncan. |
